In year 2008, I received a gift from my family. The gift was a trip to the Europe. Then I included Greece in the trip. It was a good trip thus I decide to make a return to Greece in year 2011.
I first set my foot in Athens, because I like the myth stories, architecture and food from Athens.
How to get there
Flight, train and ferry are the three ways to get to Athens. If you are getting off from plane, then we can take the train from airport. The final destination of the train is downtown in Athens. If you are taking off by ferry, there will be a metro station, tram station and bus station next to it. So you can just take either public transport to the downtown.
Where to stay
There are lots of hostel where the cost goes from 20 to 30 euros per night, whereas one to two stars hotel will be 30 to 50 euros per night and the luxury one will goes from 100 – 300 euros.
Where to play
It is all about museum and archaeology in Greece, so we have to go to The Acropolis and look for the Parthenon, it is one of the wonders of the ancient world. Then the Agora is must go places too. It is a market that located in the Central of Athens, thus it is also called Athens Central Market.
I skipped Mount Lycabettus in my trip. It does not mean that it is not important, just that I did not know the way to get up there. You have to climb all the way up if you like to see the view of the whole Athens from the top of the mountain.
Must do’s
- Travel around the city by tram.
- Take a walk to The Acropolis.
- Watch the soldier swapping their position in front of the parliament.
Where to eat
The foods are mostly Mediterranean such as gyros, kebab, grill fish and baked tomatoes.

It is my second time to visit the Acropolis, and still, the Parthenon is under renovation.... and when I was there in 2008, the same shit happen.
I am now planning my trip back to Athens and Santorini, so I am gonna climb to the top of the Mount Lycabettus.
NY gyro is nothing compare to the original gyro in sabbass lol
